Emergency 911

(Non-emergency, dial 716-549-3600). When emergency and non-emergency calls are received in the communications center, they are prioritized. Officers are dispatched to calls requiring an immediate response such as a life-threatening situation or a crime in progress before other calls for service.

Auto Theft Prevention Program

The Evans Police Department offers participation in an Auto Theft Prevention Program. To participate, the registrant of a vehicle must complete a consent form available through the Police Department.

Neighborhood Watch Program

Neighborhood watch is an organized effort by concerned residents to look out for each other’s safety, and to help law enforcement officers protect people and their homes against criminals.

House Checks

As a community service, the Evans Police Department conducts security checks for residents, at their request, while they are away from their home for any length of time.

Citizen Police Academy

Handle with Care Initiative

The Erie County Handle with Care Initiative is a collaborative effort between Erie County Central Police Services and Law Enforcement to aid law enforcement officers during interactions with individuals with mental illness or diseases that affect their cognitive ability and communication.
