Bicycle Patrol Unit
The Bicycle Patrol Unit was established in July 1997 to allow the community policing that provides closer contact with the public allowing direct contacts for problem identification and problem solving.
This includes business and residential contacts that provide the community with interaction with the police department to develop a network with the public for proactive operation by the Town of Evans Police Department.
In 2024 The Town of Evans Police Department took delivery of 2 Police Recon Interceptor E-bikes, which were obtained through a grant, at no cost to town residents.
The E-bikes will be utilized by the department during town and village events, to patrol
our bike paths, parks, and areas less accessible to standard patrol vehicles.
The following personnel are assigned to the Bicycle Patrol Unit:
- Lt. Nathan Miller
- Ptlm Ian Sansone
